There’s a New Event in Town

Following on from the recent Volunteer Rights Inquiry  i-volunteer is planning a seminal National Conference for Volunteers under the banner of Voice for Volunteers. Conceived as the first event of it’s kind the idea is to produce an event run, managed and led by volunteers to take place in December of this year.

Any volunteers in the UK who would like to be contribute to the planning of how the event will take shop to take a few moments to fill out a short survey (those who do will be entered into a draw for an iPod courtesy of the Red Foundation).

The i-volunteer briefing that we received noted that:

the more feedback we get at this stage the better we can plan an event that meets the needs and expectations of volunteers everywhere.

If you want to learn more then please visit the i-volunteer dedicated webpage.

This certainly looks like a worthwhile event if a bit daunting in scale. It will be interesting to see if the concept of supported volunteering finds its way on to the main agenda.
